Why is branding important

In this journal entry, we’ll be looking into this and will also introduce you to our new white paper. These white papers have been developed to give you more detail on how you can start, grow and benefit from your branding. Find out more about these white papers here.

What Does Branding Mean?

Branding is the act of promoting a business, product, or service with an identity. Throughout the whole history of commerce, branding has been beneficial to those buying and selling. Branding refers to everything from logos, colours, tone of voice, designs, and imagery. It is everything that makes up your brand’s personality.

Why is Branding So Crucial

We touched on this whilst looking at what branding means, but we can explain in a bit more detail by looking at the deeper sections of branding:

Brand Identity

We mentioned that a brand is the identity of a product, service or business, essentially the personality of these areas. With a good a solid brand you give a story, a meaning, or a voice to what would otherwise have nothing.

Brand Positioning

Brand positioning is how your brand fits into the mind of the consumer. Without branding, this positioning wouldn’t be maintained and that would cause a lack of brand understanding and recognisability.

Brand Structure

Without a structure behind the brand, a clear message will be hard to read and the brand won’t grow to the potential success it could reach. The Brand structure is even more important when combining multiple products or services, or even multiple brands.

Brand Messaging

An identity can only grow once it has an opinion and a message. This message helps push the ideas of the brand and gives it a personality that your target market can relate to. We cover these areas in our white paper where we break down the 12 reasons why startup fail.

Find Out What Branding Means to Your Start-Up

Us telling you the meaning of branding and the reasons why it is important won’t sink in until you find out what branding means to your start-up. So, how do you find out what branding means to you?

In order to do this, you need to explore the frameworks that could make up your brand. From this start developing this framework into the personality that is so important when branding. Once development has taken place and been completed it’s time to implement this into real life.

We explain this in more detail in our white paper, which can be found here.
