Brand awareness is something that a lot of small to medium-sized businesses struggle with. A common question we face here at Fellow is: how do I develop my brand awareness?. Unfortunately, this is not an easy thing to do, but hopefully, we can help in this article.

In this article we’ll look at ‘how to develop brand awareness’. We’ll cover how to use brand image, brand marketing and other techniques to improve brand development.

What is Brand Awareness?

Brand awareness is how well users and consumers of your goods know your business. If a consumer is highly familiar with the goods and services you provide, you have good brand awareness.

Brand awareness can be your ultimate weapon in competition. It improves your exposure and leads to a higher chance of increasing sales and gaining new customers.

Developing Brand Awareness

There are a few ways you can naturally increase and develop brand awareness. We can break these down into two categories: improving your brand image and improving your marketing.

Brand Image

Brand image is all about improving the image consumers have of your products, services and/or business. Image is a difficult thing to improve on, but having a great image is very useful. Image can make your business and brand seem like the good guys, and who doesn’t want to buy from the good guys?

Coca-Cola is a great example of a positive brand image– but this good image does not come easily. Coca-Cola works on improving its image through social media, advertising and in many other ways. They also focus heavily on hiding bad parts of their history or activities. They do this to keep a good healthy image. So how can you improve your brand image?

Interactive Social Media

You can improve the way consumers see your branding by giving it a human and real feel. People respond to people better than they do to faceless organisations. How social can help develop your brand.

Help Your Community

If you’re a small company and your customers are mostly local, this is ideal. Position yourselves and your business in a good light by helping others around you.

Consistent Branding

Remain consistent in your messaging and design. Staying consistent is a great way for consumers to remember you, helping with overall awareness.

Develop Brand Awareness Through Marketing

Developing awareness is not an easy task and it requires time and marketing. You can do quite a lot of marketing to help develop your brand for consumers.

Become an Authority

Whatever the industry, your business needs to show authority. This authority will help develop your business as experts of the industry. You can do this through content writing in the forms of blogs and articles. This content is useful for social media, guest blogging and interactions.

Advertising

Advertising is an un-organic method for increasing brand awareness. However, it is still effective. Many of the most famous brands have gained such notoriety from advertising. But, this advertising needs to remain consistent and use good design and imagery. A good example is how well McDonald’s have used billboards. Simple clean cut advertising that portrays McDonald’s messaging.

Be Creative

Creativity and style is something that is highly appreciated in modern-day branding. Creating something that is different and unique is a great way to stand out to develop awareness. Great packaging design, a good name or a great website will increase your awareness from the get-go.

How Can You Develop Brand Awareness

Brand awareness is something that can not be simply gained overnight. It can take a while for your branding and image to take off. But, using a few tips from this article and great design can really help it along its way. For more information on brand awareness, brand image and general brand design get in contact with Fellow.
