Why Do Brands Use Social Media?

First, let’s look at why a brand might want to use social media. There are many answers to this question as the reasoning is very broad. It can range from cost effective marketing, connecting easily with customers, increasing awareness of your brand through to informing customers of changes or opportunities within the brand.

Using Social Media for Marketing

Marketing is one of the main reasons a brand uses social media. We’ll explain more around how you can use social media for marketing later in this journal entry. Lots of brands, especially new brands, use social media as a form of marketing. With the increasing costs of Facebook ads, Google ads etc, social media can be a good alternative platform for putting your message out there.

Building Conversions

A social media account can display a certain message for a brand. Building a conversation using the brand’s tone of voice can help give the brand, and those who work within it, a unique appearance. A brand that has done this very well is Innocent. Innocent’s Twitter account, and their other social networks, are brilliant, funny and communicative – giving a personal feel to their brand.

Learning About Customers

Social media can be a very useful asset for understanding customers in a better way. Using a combination of marketing and conversations you can get a firsthand experience of what customers think and say. This can benefit future products or services.

Using Social Media as Brand Marketing

We touched on using social media for marketing briefly earlier in the article and we’d like to look into this a little deeper. Social media brand marketing is very useful and can enable you to connect with your market in a cost-effective way, having a significant impact. But how exactly can this be achieved?

Content Social Media Marketing

Communicating content is the main reason for social media. Without constant new content social media would get pretty dull and tediously repetitive. This is the same for your brand’s social media account. Content needs to be generated often. Video, articles and podcasts all go a long way when developing your band’s social media marketing performance.

How Can You Produce Content for Social Media?

In order to make engaging content that will drive your social media channels, you need to make content that users want to see. You can use Buzzsumo, for example, to reveal what people are looking at on social media. This then gives you an immediate understanding of the content type you could and should be producing to meet search demands.

How Can Social Media Increase Brand Awareness?

So, how does all this come together to help increase your band’s awareness? Just like anything in today’s world, individuals and companies can become famous and successful by using social media wisely and creatively. This can be the same for your brand. Being recognized as a brand with great social media accounts is an accolade that can significantly drive up brand awareness. Other than Innocent, there are a range of amazing examples of excellent social media brand strategies out there. Check out this site for the top 30 brands with excellent social media strategies.
